After many requests, even over the last few years, the tech giant Microsoft has now revealed something new that should come soon. It’s called Sets and will bring tabs to Windows 10 applications. Although it is not native to Windows, there are already several applications that give Windows the possibility of having tabs. Most focused on the file explorer, but others emerged that managed to go further. The tech giant Microsoft has always ignored this request from users, even with other systems embracing and developing this idea. This is why the arrival of Sets, the functionality that will bring tabs to Windows 10 apps, and yes, it is a surprise.
Sets: Tabs Reach Windows 10
Everything will focus on a single window, from any of the Microsoft applications, where we can open the tabs we need and then access the apps we want to use. The tab itself will take into account the apps that can be used and give access to them, in the same way, that today we use the shortcuts to the sites in browsers.
The tech giant Microsoft has made it known that Sets will only be available for Windows Universal Applications. From the beginning to the Microsoft apps and later to the rest of the programmers. Also, access to the Sets will be done in phases, even within the Insiders program. Gradually and progressively Sets will reach all of this program, to test it and find faults that will be solved.
Connecting Sets to the Timeline
The Timeline, presented and paused by the tech giant Microsoft, will finally arrive and interconnect with the Sets. The idea is to keep a timeline of the work of the users, being able to accede to them quickly, giving continuity to what it was doing in other machines. The integration part with the Sets will appear when it is opened on another PC, giving the user the possibility to restore the open tabs and continue the work. This may well be one of the biggest Windows changes in recent years. The possibility of having separators, undifferentiated, will eventually change the interface of Windows 10 again, putting everything together in a single application. The end result is a simpler Windows to use, as intended. There is no date yet for the release of this news, but the arrival of Redstone 4 next year may well be the time window that the tech giant Microsoft will set for the arrival of the Sets and the Timeline.
