The most amazing thing about Snapdragon X24 is that it will be the first chip on the market to be manufactured in 7-nanometer FinFET process. Snapdragon X24 modem can achieve the download speed of up to 2GB/s and upload speed of up to 316MB/s As we already mentioned, Qualcomm’s new modem will be the first chip on the market to be manufactured in the 7-nanometer FinFET process and it’s just another step before the release of the Snapdragon X50 which is said to support the fifth-generation mobile networks and can reach up to 5GB/s download speed. According to the reports from Engadget, Snapdragon X24 can achieve that kind of speed because it supports “up to 7x carrier aggregation on the downlink as well as 4X4 MIMO on up to five aggregated carriers. In the uplink, Snapdragon X24 supports Category 20 upload speeds, 3×20 MHz CA and up to 256-QAM.” However, it’s worth to note that there are still no 4G networks capable of delivering 2GB/s worldwide, but they do seem less distant than the 5G. The company is set to give a sneak peek at some of the core features of X24 at MWC 2019. So, what do you think about this? Share your views in the comment box below.
