Hackers are using various techniques like social engineering, connected apps or phishing attacks to steal your credential data. However, to prevent such invasions, Google has just launched a new Advanced Protection Program. Google’s new Advanced Protection Programm is very useful for those who have the greater chance of being hacked by a virtual attack. If you are a journalist, business leader, a political campaign team member, or just someone who values and needs maximum security, the search giant is now offering an extra layer of security. The new Advanced Protection Program replaces the existing two-factor authentication. Advanced Protection Program basically adds some extra security measures to safeguard your Google account. Google added an option to use physical security key. Earlier users who have activated the 2-factor authentication needs to get the code to login with their Google Accounts, however, now they can use their physical key to sign in so that hackers won’t be able to use fake log-in pages to grab sensitive information. Not only these, Google also said that the new Advanced Protection Program will block third-party apps from accessing Gmail or Google drive “When you sign up for new apps or services, you are sometimes asked for access to your data, like your emails or documents. By giving permission, you might introduce vulnerabilities that could be used to access your personal data. For example, an app you trust could be exploited or impersonated” If any users lose his/her access to the Google account and their physical security keys then they need to go through an added verification steps to restore the access. Google said, “the Advanced Protection Program will proactively add new security features to stay a step ahead of hackers”. So, if you want to secure your Google account with the new program then you can sign up from here. So, what do you think about this? Share your views in the comment box below.
