Enable Google Assistant with a “Hey Google” command
With the ‘Okay Google’ command, you can call the Google Assistant on your phone or your Google Home device. Now, this last device already had support for the ‘Hey Google’ command. It now seems that more and more users can also use Hey Google on their regular devices. Some say they get a notification from the Google app, requesting to re-train the voice model. If you do not get this message, then simply go to the settings of the Google app. To use Google Assistant you must have set the device in English anyway, so the steps will be: Settings> Voice> Voice Match> Retrain voice model. Here you first get the request ‘Okay Google’ to say ‘Hey Google’ and twice. This is clearly new and will be a useful addition for many people. Previously you had to say ‘Okay Google’ three times more simply to train the voice model. It looks like the way the tech giant Google invoke its Assistant on Google Home will come to mobile as well, and this is none other than “Hey Google”, which will live with the current “OK Google” to use the wizard. A priori is an even simpler way to open the wizard than the “OK Google” since we use a less syllable and could be faster to use.
